vacation had to get away

The mr. and i recently left it all behind in the name of vacay and set sail on the high seas.  The weather was good (although i was down for more sun) traveling with a ceramic person means you will look at and buy (if the opportunity presents itself) ceramics.   I ended up bringing home a kitty tchochkie from cozumel, a mexican red clay coffee mug for the collection and a beautiful pit fired chicken from Honduras.  (should you ever find yourself on Maya Key, prepare for a fairly substantial selection of affordable pots, the only thing that kept me from buying more was my lack of bubble wrap)

besides being in the studio working on work (the goal is to finish 5 sculptures this week), i’d been toying with updating my website (made some changes, but more tweaks still to follow) this Saturday we spent a great deal of time in the yard, which transferred to beginning general upkeep of the studio.  First step is always powerwashing, later this week I’ll make some minor repairs and then give it a good solid coat of the ole varnish.
